About the Opportunity:

We are seeking enthusiastic Study Tour Educators for the John Paul International College's Study Tour edu-tourism programs.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, John Paul International College and working collaboratively with fellow Teachers, our Study Tour Educators deliver exciting and educational edu-tourism programs to students aged 11-17.

JPIC Study Tours showcase the best of South East Queensland’s attractions and teach students about Australia. The position involves both in-class and off-campus activities, including excursions and sometimes camps.

About You:

The Study Tour Educator at John Paul College maintains a spirit and character that is supportive and recognises the worth of each student as an individual in accordance with the College Ethos.

As our programs involve a range of different activities with students of different language abilities, the candidate will be able to deliver exciting experiences in a structured and orderly manner.

A Study Tour Educator is responsible for leading a group of students, providing pastoral care as required. As Study Tour students are placed in homestay accommodation, the candidate will ensure that students are adapting well to their new environment and raise any concerns as necessary.

Ideally, applicants will have experience in a similar role. They will also have:

  • The ability to build rapport with international school students quickly
  • Empathy for students who speak English as an additional language in a different country
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, or individually
  • Ability to create and tailor resources as required.

In accordance with current Government requirements and mandates, the successful candidate must be able to provide evidence of QLD Government required employment screening for child-related employment.

They will also possess -

  • A willingness to uphold the vision and ethos of John Paul College
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Effective organisational and management skills and competent use of ICT in classroom practice
