Job Description

The Opportunity:

We're seeking passionate and dedicated Supply/Relief Teachers to join our vibrant team at John Paul College. We have opportunities across all year levels, with particular needs for educators with Early Childhood (Kindy), Primary, and Secondary expertise.

You'll play a key role in maintaining continuity of education during teacher absences, ensuring students from Kindy through to Year 12 remain engaged and supported in their learning journey across our dynamic school environment.

You’ll Bring:

Essential Requirements:

  • Queensland Teacher Registration 
  • Solid teaching background with strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum

  • Confidence using ICT and digital learning tools
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport with students of all ages
  • Commitment to supporting the values and ethos of John Paul College
  • Classroom management skills appropriate for your preferred year levels

Specialized Skills We Value

For Early Childhood (Kindy) Roles:

  • Understanding of play-based learning approaches
  • Experience with developmental milestones and age-appropriate activities
  • Skills in supporting social-emotional development
  • Knowledge of early literacy and numeracy foundations

For Primary Roles:

  • Strong foundation in core subject areas (English, Math, Science, HASS)
  • Experience with differentiated learning approaches
  • Ability to support students with varying learning needs
  • Understanding of primary-aged child development

For Secondary Roles:

  • Subject specialization in specific curriculum areas
  • Experience with senior curriculum delivery (Years 11-12)
  • Skills in adolescent engagement and motivation strategies
  • Understanding of VET pathways and tertiary preparation
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different subject contexts and year levels
