Our catering team provides nutritious, high-quality meals to our 2,400+ students, boarders and staff across our beautiful 33-hectare campus in Daisy Hill.
About the Roles:
At John Paul College, our Catering team work primarily during the school term, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking flexibility to work on school days while enjoying the school holidays.
Most of the work will be during standard school hours. However, from time to time you may be asked to support College functions and events during term, which occasionally occur outside school hours (early mornings, evenings or weekends).
As our College operates year-round, so outside term-time there are also casual opportunities available during school holidays if you're interested in picking up extra shifts.

There are multiple opportunities available at the College. We're currently recruiting for the following positions:
College Cook: Support our catering team in preparing nutritious meals for students, boarders and staff. You'll assist with food preparation, follow safety standards, cater for dietary requirements and maintain kitchen standards.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of food service/catering experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Appropriate certifications in WHS and Food Handling
Chef-de-Partie: Work closely with our Head of Catering Operations to deliver high-quality catering services. You'll cook meals to approved menus, manage food safety, cater for diverse dietary requirements and support College functions and events.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in large scale catering and venue services
- Trade qualified Chef to Certificate III - IV in Commercial Cookery
- Knowledge of culinary and baking techniques
Duty Chef: Play a key role in ensuring smooth catering operations. You'll prepare and cook meals, work independently, guide kitchen staff, manage inventory and oversee food safety and hygiene standards.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in large scale catering and venue services
- Trade qualification including Diploma level or Certificate IV with relevant work experience
- Advanced knowledge of culinary and baking techniques
- Ability to work independently and make decisions
- Appropriate certifications in WHS and Food Handling
All roles require candidates to have:
- Blue Card or Working with Children Check (or be able to get one)
- First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
- A friendly personality and great communication skills
- The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- A commitment to and a history of being consistently reliable and punctual.
