About the Opportunity:
John Paul College (JPC) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our Secondary School as Dean of Pedagogy. This is a unique five (5) year opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping teaching and learning, leading pedagogical excellence, and driving measurable improvements in student outcomes.
As a key member of the Secondary School Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership in pedagogy, curriculum design, teacher development, and the implementation of the College's Pedagogical Framework.
The Dean of Pedagogy - Secondary leads with vision, purpose, and a deep commitment to teaching excellence.
You will be responsible for:
- Driving a consistent and high-impact approach to teaching and learning across Years 7 to 12.
- Leading professional learning, coaching, and capacity-building initiatives aligned with the Performance and Development Framework.
- Embedding evidence-informed practices, including High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS).
- Leading and implementing a comprehensive Early Career Teachers Program, including mentoring, coaching, and targeted professional learning.
- Fostering a culture of reflective practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement among staff.
- Supporting staff to pursue Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) certification through targeted development and external ISQ processes.
- Overseeing the Diverse Learning team in the Secondary School and ensuring inclusive, responsive pedagogical practices.
- Leading data-informed practice and collaborative planning sessions that enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.

What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for a secondary school innovative leader with:
- Proven success in a senior pedagogical leadership role within a secondary school setting, with demonstrated impact on teaching practice and student achievement.
- Deep knowledge of contemporary pedagogy, curriculum design, and student wellbeing in the secondary years.
- A track record of driving high-quality professional learning, teacher development, and coaching frameworks.
- Experience with performance and development frameworks, teacher appraisal, and early career teacher support.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relational leadership skills.
- Experience in leading instructional improvement through collaboration, planning, and data-informed decision-making.
- A commitment to upholding the College's core values of mutual respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence.
You will need to have:
- Current QCT registration and relevant teaching qualifications (Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred).
- Current First Aid certification.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
- Willingness to undergo employment screening and meet child safety legislative requirements.
