Desired Skills and Experience

John Paul College (JPC) is seeking friendly, customer-focused individuals to join our Retail Centre team as casual Retail Assistants in January 2026.

This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of a vibrant school community while working in our welcoming retail environment.

About the Opportunity

Our Retail Centre is often the first point of contact for new and existing families, making it a vital part of the JPC experience.

As a Retail Assistant, you'll help families find the right uniforms and apparel while delivering the warm, professional service our community has come to expect.

Working alongside our Retail Manager, you'll assist with customer service, stock management, visual merchandising, and daily sales reconciliations.

Candidates will need to be available to work fulltime throughout January and have strong availability Monday to Friday throughout February and March 2026, which will be our peak period for servicing current and new families.

Outside our busy back-to-school timing starting in January, the role will offer varied hours throughout the school year.

About You

You bring at least one year's retail experience and genuinely enjoy helping people. You're comfortable with POS systems, take pride in presentation and attention to detail, and can balance busy periods with a calm, positive approach. Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours during peak times is essential.

A current Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is required prior to commencement.

How to Apply

As we're looking for the successful candidate to start in the week of 12th January 2026, we encourage applications by Sunday 4th January 2026.

Applications can be made by clicking “Apply” (below).

Please include in your application the following:

  • Your Current and up to date resume including work experience and the contact details of at least one professional referee (essential)
  • A brief cover letter outlining why you would be the ideal candidate to join our retail centre in 2026 and an outline of your availability specifically for the back-to-school timing in January to March 2026.

John Paul College is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.

We appreciate the interest of all applicants; however, only those selected for interview will be contacted.

The College reserves the right to interview and make an appointment prior to the closing date of this advertisement. We are seeking to appoint the successful candidate as soon as possible for a January 2026 start, so if you are interested in joining John Paul College, we encourage you to apply without delay.
