The John Paul College OSHC team is growing!

We are currently seeking applications from engaged and enthusiastic educators to support the ongoing operations of the College’s Outside School Hours Care and Vacation Care programs.

The College has a range of casual opportunities, making this a great fit for those looking to balance work with study or other commitments.

About the Role:
Outside School Hours Care is offered Monday to Friday during term time, with morning sessions starting at 7am until school starts. Our afternoon program runs from 3pm until 6pm. We also run an outstanding and engaging holiday program across vacation care, operating from 7am to 6pm during school holidays.

Our OSHC Team are employed to support the various activities and to be available across a diverse range of shifts and will be responsible for interacting with and effectively supervising the children of the service, whilst maintaining our clean and safe environment.

The key responsibilities of an OSHC Educator include 

  • Building relationships with children, their families and school staff
  • Implementing the service program based on children's interests
  • Ensuring a high standard of quality care is provided at all times
  • Evaluating and reflecting on activities
  • Other duties as required by the Service Supervisor

This role is paid under the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award, with age-based rates applying. Your rate will reflect your qualifications and experience.

About You:

We are looking for OSHC Educators who:

  • Hold a current Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or are willing to obtain
  • Hold a current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification or are willing to obtain
  • Have experience working with children in a similar role (desirable)
  • Can quickly build rapport with primary-aged students, parents and colleagues
  • Are flexible, energetic and adaptable
  • Can create and tailor activities to engage students in a fun and safe way
  • Are committed to the College's focus on safe environments and fantastic student experiences
