About the Opportunity:

John Paul College is excited to offer a full-time, fixed-term opportunity for a dedicated and energetic Secondary School HPE Teacher to join our team from the start of Term 2 through to the end of Term 4, 2026.

We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about inspiring students to move, compete, and develop a lifelong commitment to health and physical activity.

This role will be pivotal in delivering JPC's HPE program across secondary year levels, guiding students through physical education, sport science concepts, and health education.

Our ideal teacher will foster students' physical literacy and personal development, building their capacity to make informed decisions about health and wellbeing, work collaboratively, and develop the resilience and confidence to thrive beyond the classroom.

About You:

As a Secondary Teacher at John Paul College, you will be instrumental in shaping the skills and knowledge of our students through engaging teaching and thoughtful curriculum delivery.

The successful candidates will:

  • Support and embody the College Ethos, recognising each student’s individual potential and fostering their development.
  • Create inclusive, dynamic learning environments that inspire student engagement and achievement.
  • Communicate effectively and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate actively in the broader life of the College by attending staff meetings, curriculum development sessions, extracurricular activities, school camps, and community events.

Candidates will require:

  • A commitment to the vision and values of John Paul College.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound organisational and classroom management skills, with a focus on safety and student well-being in practical settings.
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • A dedication to continuous professional development to remain at the forefront of educational practices in HPE.
