About the Opportunity:

Are you passionate about sports and committed to supporting the holistic development of students? John Paul College are seeking two dynamic and organised persons in the role of Sports Officer.

Role 1: Full-time Temporary Contract - ASAP start until 9 October

Role 2: Full-time Permanent 

As a Sports Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our sports and activities programs while contributing to the overall well-being of our students.

The key duties of this position will include:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Sport and Activities, Sports and Activities team, and Sport Coordinators to ensure the smooth operation of all primary and secondary co-curricular and extra-curricular programs
  • Managing registrations, rolls, fixtures, schedules, venues and calendar bookings for all College sports and activities through College systems and platforms
  • Prepare, maintain and distribute key documentation, communications and promotional materials, including registrations, handbooks, event scripts and official correspondence
  • Maintain accurate databases of student participation, achievements and reporting data
  • Provide administrative and operational support for all College and representative sport, including carnivals, tournaments, nominations and representative pathways
  • Support the delivery of key College events, including carnivals, assemblies and end of season celebrations
  • Oversee volunteer onboarding and compliance processes
  • Co-ordinate bookings, administration and communication with external contractors and service providers
  • Provide key support with community partnerships and touring opportunities

You bring clarity and confidence to every interaction — whether drafting documents, liaising with stakeholders, or collaborating with colleagues across the Sports and Activities team. Your ability to articulate ideas fosters seamless coordination and keeps projects moving forward. A warm, approachable manner and polished written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Detail-Oriented Dynamo: You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in every aspect of your work. From maintaining student records to processing reports, you take pride in delivering precise and reliable results, contributing to the overall success of our sports programs.

Team Player Extraordinaire: Collaboration is key, and you excel in working closely with colleagues, coaches, and volunteers to achieve common goals. Your positive attitude, willingness to lend a hand, and ability to foster strong relationships make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Applicants will need to hold and maintain a positive notice Blue Card (Working with Children check) prior to the commencement and for the duration of employment.

Applicants should also hold (or be willing to obtain prior to commencing) a current First Aid certificate which includes CPR.
