About the Opportunity:
John Paul College is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk & Compliance Officer to join our team. This full-time role is pivotal in ensuring the College continues to meet its legal, regulatory, and accreditation obligations while fostering a positive compliance culture across our community.
Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, this position works closely with staff, volunteers, contractors, and senior leaders to oversee compliance frameworks, maintain accurate systems and registers, monitor regulatory change, and provide specialist advice and training.
The Key Responsibilities of the Risk & Compliance Officer will include:
- Overseeing compliance with Working with Children obligations for employees, volunteers, and contractors.
- Maintaining the College’s compliance register and supporting continual improvement.
- Monitoring, analysing, and interpreting regulatory reforms relevant to school operations.
- Leading the development and administration of the College’s document and records management system.
- Supporting the delivery of risk, compliance, and assurance processes across all areas of College operations.

About You:
You are an organised, proactive professional who can balance attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture. With strong knowledge of compliance and risk principles, you are confident engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders and committed to maintaining accurate systems and processes.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
- A qualification (or equivalent experience) in business, law, compliance, risk, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and document control practices.
- High level of initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience in schools or other regulated environments will be highly regarded.
