About the Opportunity
John Paul College is excited to offer a permanent full-time opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Diverse Learning Teacher to join our Secondary College team.
We are seeking an experienced teacher with a strong background in inclusive education and diverse learning, preferably in a Secondary setting. Our ideal candidate brings genuine advocacy for students with diverse needs and a commitment to ensuring every learner can access high-quality, differentiated education.
The successful applicant will deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions, facilitate Individual Learning Plans, and work collaboratively with staff to embed evidence-based, inclusive practices across the Secondary College.
About You
As a Diverse Learning Teacher at John Paul College, you will play a vital role in shaping outcomes for students with diverse needs through differentiated pedagogy, collaborative planning, and meaningful stakeholder relationships.
The successful candidate will:
- Support and embody the College Ethos, recognising each student’s individual potential and fostering their development.
- Create inclusive, dynamic learning environments that inspire student engagement and achievement.
- Communicate effectively and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate actively in the broader life of the College by attending staff meetings, curriculum development sessions, extracurricular activities, school camps, and community events.
Candidates will possess:
- A commitment to the vision and values of John Paul College.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound organisational and classroom management skills, with a focus on safety and student well-being in practical settings.
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- A dedication to continuous professional development to remain at the forefront of inclusive education practice.
Experience with NCCD, AARA, Individual Learning Plans, and Universal Design for Learning is highly regarded.
