John Paul College (JPC) Primary School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Diverse Learning Teacher to join our vibrant team in 2026!

As a Diverse Learning Teacher, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every student can access, participate in, and excel through our academic programs.

The Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Work within year-level teams to support differentiated teaching practices that meet the needs of all students
  • Provide targeted intervention for students requiring support, whether for disability, learning support, enrichment, or gifted and talented programs
  • Support students individually, in small groups, or within classroom settings
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement Education Adjustment Plans (EAPs), Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and Adjustment Plans for students with verified disabilities
  • Assist in the identification and ascertainment process for students with learning needs
  • Monitor student progress using diagnostic and formative assessment, maintaining accurate records including EAL/D Band scales
  • Work with teachers to implement quality differentiated practices and reasonable adjustments
  • Liaise with external specialists including Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and achievement

About You:

We are seeking an experienced educator who is passionate about inclusive education and making a difference for all learners.

You will hold appropriate qualifications in a relevant area such as TESOL, Gifted Education, or Special Education, and possess current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration. With at least 5 years of teaching experience, including 5+ years working as a Diverse Learning or Gifted & Talented teacher, you bring a proven track record in diverse education.

Your deep knowledge of contemporary issues, trends, and programs for diverse learning, combined with your ability to work collaboratively, will enable you to support both students and staff effectively. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and are committed to ongoing professional learning and the implementation of evidence-based best practices.

As this role involves working directly with children on campus, the successful candidate must hold a current QCT registration and a valid First Aid qualification.
